Nothing says summer more than biting into a juicy peach. We wanted to capture this, and that’s why we made Jun, a beer packing loads of peach nectar flavour, and a smoothie-like mouthfeel and sweetness.

Last year, we made quite a few changes to the beer with the goal of trying to get that sense of viscosity that one associates with peach juice. A lot of this comes from using a load of peach, but we supplemented that with the addition of some unfermentable sugars, which also returns some of that sweetness lost when the sugars in the juice were fermented. We also use a healthy amount of wheat and oats to bring the perceived thickness of the body up even further.

To give this beer some extra tartness, and a broader character to its stonefruit nature, we added just a little Ume (sour plum), and this really helps to brighten it, landing it somewhere between peach and apricot in its intoxicating aroma. While most of the beer remains unchanged from its popular reintroduction, we did amp it up just a little more. These changes consist of a slightly higher juice concentration and a slightly higher ABV, allowing the wonderful flavours to come through even stronger than before.
